Arul Health partners with Project Life MBC to bring Hazel to people living with metastatic breast cancer

Today we are proud to announce a partnership with Project Life MBC, a patient-created virtual wellness house for people living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and their loved ones. Together, we are working to make sure no one living with MBC has to manage the logistics of their care alone.
Project Life MBC was created by patients, for patients. Founded by Lesley Kailani Glenn, the organization gives its members a place to find a mentor, meet other MBC thrivers, and take part in classes and programs built around five dimensions of wellness. From Wellness Rooms and REdiscover to Project OUTreach and its monthly Sending Sunshine and Rainbows mail swap, Project Life MBC is free to all who need support and community. Its motto says it simply: "Embracing Life Together."
"Living with metastatic breast cancer means treatment never really ends, and neither does the paperwork," said Lesley Kailani Glenn, Founder of Project Life MBC. "Our members spend hours on the phone with insurers, pharmacies, and clinics, time they would rather spend with the people they love. Hazel takes on that work, so our community can spend more of their energy on living."
For Arul Health, this work is personal.
"I grew up close to serious illness, and I saw how much of the burden falls on patients and families who are already exhausted," said Eshan Vishwakarma, founder and CEO of Arul Health. "The medicine is only part of it. The appointments, the prior authorizations, the copay forms, the calls that never get returned: someone has to do all of that. Every person living with MBC deserves someone in their corner who knows how the system works and does the work for them."
Through the partnership, Project Life MBC members can use Hazel, a care assistant built by Arul Health, with support from a dedicated human care navigator. Hazel connects to a member's patient portals, keeps track of appointments and sends reminders, and helps with insurance questions, scheduling, and financial assistance, including copay and foundation aid applications. Hazel is free for Project Life MBC members.
Before launch, Project Life MBC and Arul Health ran a beta with members of the Project Life community. Their feedback shaped the version of Hazel that members can use today.
